CAD Basics

This instructor-led CAD Basics class runs over three consecutive Thursday nights, 6- 9pm and is designed for people who want to create real parts for their own projects.

Whether you’re working in a home garage, setting up a shed workshop, or just want to get your ideas out of your head and into usable files, this course focuses on practical, hands-on CAD skills and the steps needed to get it from a sketch on paper to something that can be sent of to be manufactured.

You’ll learn the fundamentals of CAD with a strong emphasis on 3d and sheet-metal design, including best practices for parts that will actually fold, fit, and manufacture correctly.

What to expect:

  • Small, instructor-led classroom environment

  • CAD fundamentals aimed at beginners

  • Sheet-metal specific workflows and design rules

  • 3d modelling for machining or 3d printing

  • Multi part assemblies for checking multiple parts fit together

Perfect for DIY fabricators, restorers, 4WD builders, hobbyists, and makers who want to take control of their designs and stop guessing.

Maximum class size of 6 so you will have plenty of one on one time with our trainer if needed.
